The Lanterns mission is to prepare people
for Jesus’ glorious return.
The most important aspects of this preparation are...
- To bring people (especially the poor and destitute and desperate for God) into a strong, loving and joyful faith in Jesus – as their lord and saviour, as their soon and coming king, as their true love, and as the willing giver of all goodness and mercy.
- To introduce people into a personal and daily experience of Jesus' wonderful love – both in their relationship with him, and through their experience with us.
- To cultivate daily growth in people's love for God and each other – in both heart and practice.
- To encourage people to live God's way – especially in love, holiness, humility and purity of heart.
- To help people to receive the Baptism in the Holy Spirit.
- To minister the supernatural gifts of the Holy Spirit (as appropriate) for the wholeness and growth of each person.
- To help people realise – and encourage them to fulfil – their God-given destiny.
- To impart a good understanding of Jesus' soon return.
