Lanterns Crusades
Considering the billions of people who don't yet know the saving grace of Jesus Christ, our first priority is to bring people into the love of God – by introducing them to the new life that Jesus offers through true love and faith in him.
The Lord has given us a very effective strategy for doing crusades, and although we are primarily working in very poor villages — especially in India and Africa, and often where Jesus is completely unknown — in the past few years, tens of thousands of people have come to know the wonderful salvation of Jesus.
Here is a brief overview of how we approach and do Lanterns Crusades...
A Network of Local Crusades
Our objective here is not to have big crusades with international speakers, but to have many smaller crusades run by locals.
A small team of local pastors and other helpers will go into an area – usually a village or town – to do the crusade. If there are any churches in the area, they are invited to participate, and the people who are saved can afterwards go to any of those churches. Otherwise, we plant a new church in the area.
When we find suitable new people who are excited by the vision, they are trained and equipped to do crusades with their own team.
Lanterns 40-Day Journey
Prior to every crusade, everyone who is participating (the team) is invited to do the Lanterns 40-day Journey in the six weeks leading up to the crusade. We have found this to be an extremely powerful part of our strategy — both for the individuals who do it, and for the success of the crusade.
It includes various aspects, such as fasting, prayer, journaling, Bible study, seeking God's presence, proclaiming decrees, and doing Jericho walks.
It's purpose is to prepare both the people doing it and the local area (spiritually) for the crusade. Specifically, it helps us...
- To attract God’s loving, manifest presence, and to develop our intimacy and love relationship with Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit.
- To grow our love for other people.
To take spiritual possession of the land.
This last point involves each person on the team using the decrees and Jericho walks... Individually, for their own home — then, during the final 7 days, the whole team does them together for the whole district of the crusade.
